Automotive sensor assembly requires picking the part, rotating it to an alignment angle, and press-fitting it into the housing. Traditional solutions need two robots — one for pick/transfer, another for rotary alignment — or add a rotary cylinder to the gripper, making the system complex, costly and maintenance-heavy. The customer wanted an electric gripper that integrates rotation and gripping so a single robot completes all motions, reducing cost and complexity.
